Electronic Music: The ‘Sandspider’
Project
Sandspider is the collaborative work
of Matthew Leigh Embleton and Alan McDermott.
When Sandspider began in 1998, the
original idea was to create instrumental electronic music that gathered our
musical influences together from far and wide, and through experimentation,
and by using any technology we could get our hands on, discover and
represent the similarities running through them all, and experiment with
the idea that ‘If all music is sound, then all sound can be music’.
Sandspider signed to Worm Interface
Records in 1999, and then moved to Millennium Records in 2001.
